Magnetic building toys have become one of the hottest toys on the market now. Some have holes in the middle, some are larger and some come in more different shapes than others. Which ones should you get?
We decided to do the research for you.
In doing this research, we divided our research into the following categories:
The time has arrived. You can no longer put it off. Grandma and grandpa want to see your toddler. That is all hunky-dory EXCEPT that they live across the other side of the world. It will take almost a whole day’s worth of travel for you to get there.
You are not looking forward to it. You have heard horror stories of parents who have suffered through excruciating plane flights while their toddlers ran up and down the plane aisle, disturbing everyone on board.
You don’t know how you will survive but you swear that you will do everything in your power to be prepared in advance. Continue reading
Babies and music are like mac n cheese. They just fit really well together. We have yet to meet a baby who doesn’t love music. Yup, your baby even appreciates your awful out of tune singing. We know because we have heard some truly terrible tuneless rapping from dads and their kids still look mesmerized. Mesmerized.
In fact, not only do babies love music but according to a study, they also love to dance! Yeah, that foot stomping you saw your baby do for 2 seconds was real. They were really tapping to the beat, not just randomly shaking their foot. Continue reading

CONGRATULATIONS! You are probably reading this because you are thinking that it might be ready for your child to learn to walk! It’s not easy to imagine your precious child walking (and getting into all sorts of trouble!) but the fact that you are reading this indicates that you are ready. Right?
But Is Your Child Ready to Walk?
Your child will start showing signs that he or she is ready to walk when he or she starts pulling themselves up on things.
Most babies would have taken their first tentative steps by their first birthday but the age range for a child to walk can vary from 9 months to 18 months!
But before you start encouraging your child to walk, does your child already know how to crawl? If not, you will want to read our blog post on the importance of crawling and the steps you can take to help your child to do so. Continue reading
“Is your baby crawling yet?”
“When did your baby start crawling?”
“My baby just wants to skip straight to walking. How did you help your baby crawl?”
If you have a young baby around the ages of 6 to 12 months, the topic of crawling will be one of the hottest topics discussed among your parent circles.
Why? First, we all have to admit that crawling is a significant milestone in a baby’s life. It’s a big jump to see baby graduate from being ‘marooned and helpless’ in one location to constant exploration everywhere!
Crawling is also sometimes used as an indicator to check whether your baby is developing normally physically. It is often hard to analyze the development of a baby’s sense of smell, touch, sight, hearing and taste. But crawling is easy to see. Your baby is either crawling or not.
When your baby starts crawling, this may be your proudest moment or worst nightmare.
In our case, we were ecstatic when our little one could crawl. Continue reading
Is your baby teething?
If you are reading this article, chances are, you are yelling a big, loud YES! We all know when our baby is teething. Suddenly their bibs get soaked after 5 minutes, they are constantly gnawing on everything in sight including their toys, your smartphone and the table legs; or they just won’t stop crying!
Worse, what used to work like magic to help calm your baby down such as nursing or drinking milk no longer seems to work! Don’t be surprised if your baby avoids daytime naps or stops sleeping through the night, teething can result in frequent night waking. When our test baby teethes, he refuses to nurse, eat or sleep, and pretty much drives us crazy if we don’t have items for him to chew on.
Or maybe you are one of those lucky parents who wake up one morning and discover that your baby has popped a cute tooth out without a whimper or any indication that he or she was uncomfortable. If so, treasure your blessing- we hate you (just kidding)! Continue reading
